Andy Carter MP has been contacted by many residents in Appleton to ask about the planned GP surgery at Appleton Cross which hasn’t materialised following the completion of the new housing development.
Andy has spoken with Homes England who own the land and Warrington Borough Council who are responsible for planning. The developers have made payments as part of their conditions to build and the GP practice is keen to move but there’s no progress. He has also asked the Council what’s happened to the money that has been paid by the house builders which should be used for facilities in Appleton.
Andy is very disappointed to see planning permission has now lapsed which means a new applications will need to be made and that will delay the build further.
Andy has raised the matter in Parliament as there should be a requirement to deliver the infrastructure when new homes are built, if Councillors approve plans for large development they should be held accountable for the delivery of the support services too.
