Andy Carter MP visited the brand new bus depot on Dallam Lane to see the first of 105 new Warrington’s Own Buses - in their striking yellow livery - at a special event at the new purpose bus depot today. From the start of May, the zero emission electric buses will start picking up passengers, providing greener, cleaner transport for all.
Andy has focused his efforts on helping people to get to work, to learn and to see family more easily, through investment into affordable and reliable public transport. Adult fares are capped at just £2 and fares for children at just £1 and from April the £1 cap extended to young people up to the age of 21.
All of this is thanks to funding from the Government with more than £40m to secure buses, reduce fares, increase service routes and extended the timetable across weekends and into the evening here in Warrington, one of the biggest transport funding packages ever secured for the area.
